You aren't here just to live, you want to thrive
Nervous System focused, Polyvagal-Informed
Our nervous system is the navigation and control center of our body, it includes the brain, spinal cord and the nerves that branch out from there. It innervates every aspect of our body. It seems to reason that if we take care of this system, prioritize this system, we can live healthy, longevous lives. Are you in?
The Polyvagal Theory is a framework for understanding the autonomic nervous systems role in regulating behavior and health, particularly in response to to safety and threat. Three states recognized by this theory is "fight or flight", "collapse" and "social engagement". These three states are not separate but rather a continuum through which we move on a daily basis. Dr. Ciara uses this information to guide your care and healing in corroboration with other lifestyle habits and routines that are already in place.

Collaborative Care
Dr. Ciara had been working alongside athletes and teams while attending chiropractic school and upon graduation in 2013 she had the opportunity to continue working with the National Governing Body for USA Beach Volleyball. She gained invaluable experience as a member of the USA Beach Volleyball Medical Team which included medical doctors, orthopedic doctors, chiropractic doctors, physical therapy doctors, Acupunture doctors, athletic trainers, and massage therapists.
A collaborative care mindset has since been a part of her approach to care, carried into her private practice that was started in Los Angeles where she collaborated with local nutritionists, Acupunture and massage providers, fitness coaches, running coaches and wellness providers.
As a part of performance-focused care she also obtain certifications in Graston Technique (M1), Rocktape, KT Tape, Selective Functional Movement Systems, and studied myofascial release, lymphatic care, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, Postural Restoration Institute's approach to name a few.
This continues to be her approach to care 10+ years into practice, as it has been a time-proven approach for the overall betterment of those that we care's for.

A note on chiropractic services: Since this is a patient-centered approach, it's counterintuitive to allow insurance guidelines to dictate care, besides most plans claim to cover wellness services but also require "medical necessity" approval. If you truly believe your plan will cover wellness services then I will be happy to provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
